OUTDOOR RECREATION

INTRODUCTION

Outdoor Recreation is a course which will provide the student with an understanding of the interrelationships between our recreational and leisure involvement and the natural environment. It is this involvement that gives rise to various cause and effect relationships as well as varying degrees of impact on the environment.

It is the purpose of this course to generate an awareness on the part of the student of the many variables, problems and conflicts that exist when trying to manage the outdoors to provide recreation and leisure for Americans as far into the future as possible.

This course offers three (3) hours of academic credit.

COURSE EXAMS AND FINAL EXAMINATION

The student will take TWO Course Exams and a Final Examination at a physical location in a college or university setting. Detailed instructions and Course Exam and Final Examination applications are included in the syllabus. Information regarding tests and procedures can be found in General Information.

INSTRUCTOR

Dr. James Gilbert is an associate professor of leisure management and coordinator of leisure management. He received his B.S. and M.A. from Western Kentucky University and his Ed.D from Northern Colorado.
