FIRST AID
INTRODUCTION
The purpose of this first aid course is to provide you with the background knowledge required to help preserve life and treat medical emergencies until professional medical help is available. The knowledge that you gain through the completion of this course could be extremely valuable to yourself, your family, friends, or anyone else.
You will acquire the knowledge base through reading assignments from your textbook and investigative problem solving. It is not possible to evaluate student skills through independent study courses. However, the knowledge that you gain will be essential in facilitating your ability to perform proper first aid procedures. Although this course does not provide you with any form of certification, the knowledge that you will develop will enable you to successfully complete a certification course such as offered by the American Red Cross certification course with relatively minimal effort.
This course offers three (3) hours of academic credit.
MID-COURSE TEST AND FINAL EXAMINATION
