BEGINNING COMPUTING

INTRODUCTION

This course is an introduction to computers and computing, for students with no prior knowledge of computers. It is not to be used to satisfy CSCI major requirements.

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to demonstrate:

• a knowledge of basic concepts and terminology of computer science.
• skill in accessing and utilizing the Internet to acquire global information.

This course offers three (3) hours of academic credit.

MID-COURSE TEST AND FINAL EXAMINATION

The student will take a Mid-Course Test and Final Examination at a physical location in a college or university setting. Detailed instructions and Mid-Course Test and Final Examination applications are included in the online syllabus. Information regarding tests and procedures can be found in General Information.

INSTRUCTOR

Ms. Cynthia Zickos has been a Computer Science faculty member since 1997.  She received her M.S in Computer and Information Science from the University of Mississippi and her B.S. in Mathematics from the University of North Alabama.
