INTRODUCTION TO ACCOUNTING PRINCIPLES
INTRODUCTION
Accountancy 202, the second half of the Introduction to Accounting Principles, gives the basic foundation for preparing, understanding, and using financial information. the course is designed to prepare the student for more advanced study in the field of accounting as well as in related fields of business and economics. The course is also
designed for students of the arts and sciences who desire basic knowledge of financing record keeping, financial reports and the
basic elements of business.
Accountancy 201 is a prerequisite for Accountancy 202. Financial reporting for corporations and managerial accounting are emphasized in this course.
Specialized topics covered include bonds, business planning and budgeting.
This course offers three (3) hours of academic credit.
COURSE EXAMS AND FINAL EXAMINATION
The student will take TWO Course Exams and a Final Examination at a physical location in a college or university setting. Detailed instructions and Course Exam and Final Examination applications are included in the syllabus. Information regarding tests and procedures can be found in General Information.
INSTRUCTOR
Dr. Dave Nichols is an associate professor of accountancy. He received his B.S., M.B.A. and Ph.D. from Oklahoma State University.
