Most apartments in Oxford require long–term leases of at least one–year. Most leases follow the University’s academic year, with leases starting on August 1 and running through July 31 of the following year. It is often possible to sub–lease apartments in the middle of the year, but most sub–leases must run through July 31. It is common for most landlords to require you to pay a deposit which is equal to one month’s rent when you sign a lease for an apartment or house. Be sure to read through the terms of your lease carefully before signing. By signing a lease, you are promising to pay the landlord for the entire time listed on the lease. Ending a lease early or violating the lease agreement can cost you the rental deposit for the apartment or house.

Additionally, most apartments are unfurnished. There are a few furnished apartments in the area. Most of the furnished apartments are listed below. It is best to check with the landlord of the apartment or house about whether furnished housing is available.
