Course Description:

To understand where we are going, we must first understand where we have been. This course focuses on the worldís best literature from the beginning of recorded time to the present. It provides students with exposure to and knowledge of classic texts from around the globe, as well as the background and skill needed to understand and enjoy each.

Our goal will be to think critically about readings and to consider the authorís purpose, audience, tone, and use of literary devices to make meaning as language and literature evolves. The major form of expression and analysis in this course will be through various forms of writing: analysis, interpretation, research, etc.
