I am very excited to be teaching this course through UMHS! I am a graduate of Mississippi College where I majored in Elementary Education and received endorsements in History and English.

I received my master's at Ole Miss in Elementary Curriculum and Instruction with a focus in Reading/Language Arts.

Course Description:

Regardless of what you plan to do with your life, writing well will be a vital part of your professional success. This course focuses on writing in a professional manner for professional audiences. These skills apply to acquiring, keeping, and succeeding in the ìrealî world.

Our first areas of focus will be acquiring a professional position with a concise resume and cover letter followed by formal thank you letter. The remainder of the course will focus on keeping and succeeding in a professional position with formal e-mail correspondence, proposals, presentations, instructions, reviews, and reports. The result of this class will be confidence and competence in professional settings.

Required Textbook:

No textbook is required--all materials are included in the course itself. Students should be sure to read all attached documents in the lessons.
