OXFORD, Miss. — Local residents who are interested in finding out more about completing their bachelor’s degrees in Grenada are invited to attend the 2017 Undergraduate Information Session event hosted by the University of Mississippi-Grenada on Wednesday, March 29 from 4-6 p.m.
The event will take place in Phillips Hall on the Holmes Community College-Grenada campus located off of Avent Drive. Interested students will have the opportunity to speak with academic counselors, admissions representatives, and financial aid advisors.
“This event attracts students who are wanting to advance their careers and earn their college degree close to home in Grenada,” UM-Grenada Associate Director Jessica Coker-Hughes said.
UM-Grenada offers junior and senior-level courses for those who have already completed freshmen and sophomore-level courses at a local community college. Students who transfer to the UM-Grenada campus can complete a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, elementary education, general business, or general studies.
“We usually see students attend this event who are looking for the final piece of the puzzle in their educational goals,” UM-Grenada Associate Director Jessica Hughes said. “We want to help make the transition process from an area community college to the University of Mississippi-Grenada as simple as possible, and this event really helps with that.”
Students are encouraged to bring unofficial transcripts for transfer evaluation. Students who are ready to begin their junior-year with Ole Miss-Grenada this fall will have the opportunity to apply for admission and have the $40 application fee waived.
