» Global Ambassadors
The purpose of this program is to pair visiting international exchange and intensive English students with American students at the University of Mississippi in order to foster understanding and more open communication between these two groups.
Global Ambassadors are representatives of the University of Mississippi who help international exchange or intensive English students acclimate to life in Oxford by inviting them to social events and campus activities and introducing them to Ole Miss college traditions such as Groving, pep rallies, Greek life, and local arts. Each Global Ambassador will assist a group of two or three exchange students and will be paired with the group based on common interests and majors. International exchange and intensive English students come from universities across the globe: China, France, Ireland, South Korea, Argentina, Germany, and Ecuador… just to name a few.
If you are a current University of Mississippi student who is interested in getting to know people from across the world and would like to learn about other cultures while helping visiting international students integrate into the Oxford and Ole Miss Community throughout the semester, then this program is right for you!

Official Arrival Day When you arrive at the airport please gather your bags and make your way to BAGGAGE CLAIM B. A University of Mississippi representative will be waiting at Baggage Claim B to meet you and will be holding a red sign that says "University of Mississippi" on it. Because we have many students arriving on the same day, we will break you into shuttle groups. You will receive an e-mail at least one week prior to arrival letting you know what the shuttle time is for your group. If you are arriving in advance of this time please check in with the UM representative first and then you may get food or freshen up while you wait for the shuttle to arrive. If your flight is delayed and you miss your original shuttle time, please still make your way to Baggage Claim B when you land. Should you have difficulty connecting with your shuttle please call the International Outreach Office at 662.915.3766 and someone will assist you. |
