Master’s Initiative
In an effort to globalize our campus at all academic and social levels, the University of Mississippi has undertaken a project known as the Master’s Initiative. This project brings students from approved exchange partners to UM to complete a full advanced degree. Students from any academic background are encouraged to apply but must be nominated by their home institution.
Each institution that is part of this initiative is eligible to send 1 student per academic year to UM to begin their program. While on campus, Master’s Initiative students will receive tuition and health insurance benefits at no cost and a graduate assistantship of $800 per month for the 9-month year. The student is responsible for budgeting housing and meal expenses, textbooks, the student health center visit, personal expenses, travel expenses, and any special class fees.
Application materials include the following:
- Application Form (click here) (pages 2 through 4)
- Affidavit of Financial Support (click here)
- Letter of Recommendation
