Program Focus
Managing the Oppositional and Defiant Child
will focus on the effective identification and
management of a child or adolescent presenting
the symptoms and features of Oppositional Child
Disorder.
Program Description
The oppositional, defiant and noncompliant
child or adolescent is hands down one of the most
difficult youngsters to serve therapeutically. The
behaviors this youngster can present at home and
at school essentially defy conventional wisdom
and tactics.
Needs Addressed by this Program
- Why is it that ODD youngsters engage in
behaviors that mostly hurt themselves. . .and
do it over and over again?
- Why is it this child seems to gain so much
strength from our frustration and anger?
- What DO we do with this youngster?
This program will offer insights and ideas in
answer to these questions. . .and more.
Intended Audience
Practitioners, clinicians, special education/
regular education teachers, counselors, administrators,
school nurses, special education assessment
Anger Management for Kids will focus on the
scope and cause of persistent impulsive and
aggressive behavior, and it will offer practical,
doable ideas and strategies for effective intervention
and management.
