All students enrolling in IEP courses at the University of Mississippi must complete a series of placement tests to assess each student's English proficiency upon entry into the Intensive English Program. Results of this assessment will determine a student's placement in the most appropriate level of instruction. Each testing session is approximately 2-3 hours in length.

All full-time IEP students are expected to complete the placement tests immediately upon arrival at UM, or, at the latest, prior to the first day of classes.
