How Do Students Apply?

Students will complete the Dual Credit/Early College Application process through the Division of Outreach

  1. The student must apply for admission to the University through dual credit. A onetime application fee of $40 is required at the time of application. If the Admissions Application fee was not paid during the Undergraduate Application process, please send the fee of $40 for Mississippi residents or $60 for non-residents to the Dual Credit office.
  2. The Division of Outreach will complete the application process through the Admissions specialist assigned to Outreach.
  3. The student will be notified of acceptance for dual enrollment and will be given instructions on how to enroll for the course (depending upon the manner of delivery of the course) and how to purchase textbooks and materials.
  4. Contact for the student and the high school will be maintained through the Division of Outreach.

Eligibility

The University will follow the requirements for participation as stated in the state legislation. A student wishing an Dual Credit/Early College or dual credit for a high school course and a University course must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on all high school courses and successful completion of 14 core high school units and/or junior status and written recommendation from school principal or guidance counselor OR Minimum overall GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale on all high school courses and a minimum composite ACT score of 30 or the equivalent SAT score and written recommendation from school principal or guidance counselor

Tuition for Dual Credit/Early College Courses

(1/2 tuition + $100 online fee)

Students will be charged the regular fees for courses taken through the Bursar's Office, just as any other student is charged. Books and materials are the responsibility of the student.
