Introduction to Professional Braiding

Melony Armstrong owns and operates the first fully licensed braiding salon in Mississippi. In addition to her salon Naturally Speaking, Melony now runs Armstrong Braiding Academy where she coaches and consults, teaches her craft, and encourages other women entrepreneurs. Melony has trained countless women in the art of professional hair braiding who have gone on to earn a living in her trade. CPR and First Aid Training*

Become CPR Certified! Learn techniques that could save someone’s life! Have a plan for an emergency and develop the skills necessary to help an adult, child, or infant who is not breathing or whose heart has stopped beating. Learn the new CAB and early warning signs of stroke and cardiac arrest. AED (Automated External Defibrillator) training will be included with this course. Instructor will also cover basic first aid, home safety, splinting, bleeding control, bandaging, and victim assessment. This course meets the requirements for foster care, adoption and child care workers. Class fee includes materials and American Red Cross Certification for two years.

Safe Sitter® Essential Skills for Kids Ages 11 to 14

Safe Sitter® is a nationally recognized program for 11-14 year olds in which participants learn life-saving skills so they can be safe if home alone or watching younger children. Participants play fun games, do some role-playing exercises, and even learn fundamental CPR and first aid practices to help rescue someone who is choking. At the conclusion of the class, participants will be prepared to handle any situation that may arise while babysitting.
