The Center for Excellence in Literacy Instruction is excited to announce its 1st Annual Reading Conference on March 3, 2008 in Oxford, Mississippi.
Robert B. Cooter, Jr., co-editor of
The Reading Teacher and distinguished author, will serve as our keynote speaker.
Claiborne Barksdale of the Barksdale Reading Institute will serve as our luncheon speaker. Mississippi author
Laurie Parker, will be honored with the Robert M. Hearin Children’s Literature Author Award during the luncheon as well. Our focus is reaching our diverse learners.
Three rounds of afternoon sessions focusing on assessment, comprehension, vocabulary, literature, and early literacy will be offered.
Registration and Morning Session
will be located in the
E.F. Yerby Conference Center.
