Regional Campus Academic Leadership Scholarships
The Academic Leadership Scholarship is awarded to selected community college transfer students who are rising juniors entering a UM Regional campus. Recipients receive a half-tuition scholarship for four consecutive semesters. In order to be eligible for this award, students must have no less than a 2.5 GPA from transfer institution (as calculated by The University of Mississippi). Students must also submit a brief essay that demonstrates financial need and interest in their chosen field as well as one letter of recommendation from a supervisor, principal, co-worker, community leader, teacher, etc. If awarded, the student will receive a scholarship for tuition for fall and spring for four semesters- provided that he/she is full-time status, and maintains a 2.5 Resident GPA.
Community College Academic Excellence Scholarship
The UM Community College Academic Excellence Scholarship is available for all new community college transfer students who have at least a 3.0 transfer GPA (as calculated by UM), have at least 48 transfer hours, and has never attended a 4-year University.
The scholarship is $1,500 per year ($750 per semester) and is renewable for up to 4 semesters (fall & spring only). Students must be enrolled full-time to receive this award. The scholarship May be stacked with other institutional, state, federal and private funding such as the PTK scholarship, MTAG, Luckyday, Outreach Academic Leadership, Pell Grant, etc. There is no application to complete, or application deadline. Students will be flagged for the scholarship upon receipt of their final transcripts by the Office of Admissions. If eligible students do not see this scholarship on their financial aid package within a few weeks of being admitted to the university, they should contact the Office of Financial Aid at finaid@olemiss.edu.
Phi Theta Kappa Scholarships
The Phi Theta Kappa Scholarship is automatically awarded (no separate application) to community college transfer students who are members of the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society, have at least 48 transferable credit hours, and a 3.5 transfer GPA (as calculated by UM) or higher. PTK must be indicated on the official transcript or students may submit a copy of the PTK membership card to the UM Office of Financial Aid by mail, email, or fax. Students must be enrolled full-time to receive this award. Students who have attended a four-year university or college following high school are not eligible to receive this award.
Robert D. Oesterling Academic Excellence Nonresident Tuition Award
The University of Mississippi-Booneville awards a number of Robert D. Oesterling Academic Excellence Nonresident Tuition Awards each year to entering graduate and undergraduate students who do not meet the requirements for Mississippi residency. This scholarship is applied toward out-of-state tuition. The recipient of an Oesterling Nonresident Tuition Award is selected on the basis of his or her academic record (3.2 GPA for graduate level and 3.0 GPA for undergraduate). Continuing awards are contingent on satisfactory academic performance. Students receiving the Off-Campus Graduate Minority Fellowship for Out-of-State Students are not eligible for consideration.
Tri-state Educational Grant
The Tri State Educational Foundation was formed for the purpose of providing financial support to those persons in Northeast Mississippi, Northwest Alabama, and Tennessee who seek ways to better themselves through educational measures. Recipients of this grant must live in specific counties in the area. The deadline to receive applications is March 1st of every year.

Graduate Scholarships
Academic Leadership Scholarships for Masters in Curriculum & Instruction program
Scholarships are offered to area teachers who are beginning their graduate-level coursework at The University of Mississippi-Booneville. One scholarship will be awarded to a teacher from each school district in Northeast Mississippi. A recommendation from your school principal or district superintendent is required.
Scholarship award recipients will receive a half-tuition scholarship for each graduate level class taken at UM-Booneville. The application deadline is July 1.
To be eligible for this competitive award a graduate student must have no less than a 3.0 Undergraduate GPA as calculated by the University of Mississippi. In order to maintain the award, the student must receive a 3.0 resident GPA for each semester of coursework completed with UM.
Graduate Teacher, Counselor, School Administration Loan Scholarship
The Mississippi Board of Trustees of State Institutions of Higher Learning designed this scholarship program as an incentive to encourage current licensed classroom teachers in our state's public schools to pursue an advanced degree in education. The primary objective is to place master's level teachers in our public school classroom and counseling and administration positions.
Award: $150 per credit hour ($450 per 3-hour graduate course)
Application Period: January 1 - March 31 each year.
Dates are important as the number of awards and recipients are dependent upon available funds and awards are made on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Tri-State Educational Grant
Numerous grants are available each year through the Tri-State Educational Foundation to help Northeast Mississippians further their education. Applicants for this funding must reside in one of the following counties: Alcorn, Lee, Itawamba, Prentiss, Tippah, Tishomingo, or Union. The deadline to receive applications is March 1. UM/School District Bank Hours
The UM School of Education offers "bank-hour" credit to those school districts that assist with internship/student teaching programs. School districts receiving credit may use it to offset the cost of UM tuition for their employees. The formula for bank hours is determined each year by the University based upon the number of reported student placements. Please contact your individual district office to see if bank-hour funding is available.
