The Academic Traveler offers an African adventure, Tanzania: A Photographic Safari. Explore this east African country with photographer Brooke White, assistant professor of art at the University of Mississippi. Travelers will depart on May 31st and return on June 8th. Experienced guides from Green Footprint Adventures will take participants through the national parks of Tanzania, leading them to areas optimal for seeing buffaloes, giraffes, hippos, lions, porcupines, leopards, elephants and a wide array of birds. In addition to the wildlife, travelers will have the opportunity to photograph the stunning African landscape ranging from the Ngorongoro Crater, the world’s largest unbroken caldera to the grasslands of the Serengeti, home to the largest and longest overland migration in the world.

Highlights for Academic Travelers:

Tanzania: A Photographic Safari program cost is $6995 per person (double occupancy). Registrants must submit a $1000 non-refundable deposit by March 6th, with the balance due in two equal parts on April 1st and May 1st. Employees of the University of Mississippi can use payroll deduction and have the balance spread over up to 24 pay periods beginning in April.

Accommodations are provided at the following locations - Rivertrees Lodge, Plantation Lodge, Olakira Camp, Kia Lodge
