New York: A Culinary Adventure

The Academic Traveler presents New York: A Culinary Adventure, an educational travel program dedicated to the food culture of New York City. Participants will get an insider’s view of markets and restaurants in New York, a true melting pot of world cuisines.
Academic Travelers will:
- Tour the chocolate shops that are making New York the American chocolate capital with culinary historian Alexandra Leaf
- Learn culinary skills from the experts chefs at the Institute for Culinary Education during a private cooking class.
- Tour the shops of Chelsea Market, home of the Food Network
- Take a multi-ethnic tasting tour, exploring the history and sampling the foods that enrich the Chinese, Italian, and Jewish neighborhoods of Lower Manhattan
- Enjoy a guided tour of the Chelsea art galleries before a farewell dinner at a notable New York restaurant
The tour director for New York: A Culinary Adventure is Cory Lewis, chef, artist, and adjunct assistant professor of art at the University of Mississippi.
The program fee is $1495 per person (double occupancy). Register for both the A Culinary Adventure and City Arts in New York for $2495. Spend 6 days in the city experiencing the best food and art New York has to offer!
