The Academic Traveler is pleased to present a family educational travel program, City Kids: New York. This program gives kids and parents an opportunity to travel to new places, learn about new things and explore new cultures – together! Visit the American Museum of Natural History to see bones, bears and bugs
Tour of the cool art at the Museum of Modern Art
Walk across the Brooklyn Bridge
Compete in a scavenger hunt at the Metropolitan Museum of Art
See the original Blue Man Group at the Astor Place Theatre
Ride a speedboat along the Hudson River and enjoy the beautiful New York skyline
Walk through Central Park and go to the zoo
See the Statue of Liberty and other New York City landmarks
Tour the ethnic neighborhoods of Manhattan and sample foods from different cultures
Visit FAO Schwarz, the world’s largest toy store
Enjoy a farewell dinner amidst the singing waitstaff at Ellen’s Stardust Diner

City Kids: New York program cost is $1795 for adults (based on double adult occupancy) and $1395 for children. The registration deadline is Thursday, May 1 to guarantee group airfare. Enrollment is limited, so register early to secure a space. Payroll deduction is available for University of Mississippi faculty and staff.

round-trip airfare (Memphis/New York)
lodging at the Embassy Suites Hotel for four nights
daily breakfast buffet
museum admissions
tour and guide fees
Metrocard allowing unlimited bus and subway travel
tickets to Blue Man Group

transportation to/from the Memphis airport
meals, other than those listed above
travel insurance

The tour leader for City Kids: New York is Laura Antonow, former NYC resident, adjunct assistant professor of art at the University of Mississippi and mother of two who travels with her daughters as often as possible.
