The Academic Traveler presents City Arts: New York, an educational travel program dedicated to the art of New York City. Participants will get an insider’s view of the international art scene in New York, considered by many to be the art capital of the world. Academic Travelers will:

- Visit Chelsea and the contemporary art gallery scene with art historian Merrily Kerr
- See highlights at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and enjoy chamber music and cocktails on the mezzanine
- Walk the Brooklyn Bridge, and explore the new Brooklyn Bridge Park
- Explore the architecture of the city with architectural historian Francis Morrone
- Enjoy a private before-hours tour of the Museum of Modern Art
- Attend special exhibitions at world-renowned museums – detail to follow…
The tour director for City Arts: New York is Laura Antonow, former designer at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, adjunct assistant professor of art at The University of Mississippi, and director of the Academic Traveler program.
The program fee is $1395 per person (double occupancy).
