On October 3, 2009, the Department of Mathematics at the University of Mississippi will host its fifth annual high school mathematics contest. This will be a wonderful opportunity for students to flex their mathematical muscles and for teachers to meet colleagues and Ole Miss faculty.

We hope that you and your school will be able to participate.

Competition Rules

Above all, this tournament thrives on competition that is both courteous and respectful of others. Therefore, appropriate conduct is required for all individuals involved. ANY inappropriate conduct, including yelling, show of temper, or interruptive/distracting behavior (as deemed by the tournament director) is grounds for forfeiture of a match or expulsion from the tournament.

11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Lunch on your own
The Johnson Commons and the Union will be open.
1:00 – 2:15 p.m. Team Exam
2:30 – 3:15 p.m. Speed Round
3:30 p.m. Awards Ceremony
