(B) Annual Growth and Catch-Up Growth
All students need to experience "Annual Growth" each year, while many students need to experience "Catch-up Growth" to avoid being left behind. Bailey Education Group has created this session to frame specific research based strategies for achieving Catch-up Growth for those who are behind. Supported by research from the "Kennewick Experience," a focus on goal setting, data, growth measures, and time, is helping schools and districts throughout our nation to experience a closing of the achievement gaps for our risk students. This session will provide participants with the information needed to set and project target growth goals, develop student action plans proportional to student needs, and to establish progress monitoring to ensure success.

(C) Data Driven Decisions
There is a growing need for educators to make Data Driven Decisions in order to meet the needs of all learners. Bailey Education Group has created this session to help educators understand how to effectively make use of available data to improve student growth for all learners. Supported by research from master educator Dr. Douglas Reeves, Data Driven Decision Making is helping schools across the United States to experience a closing of the achievement gaps and increased student growth gains through the effective use of data analysis and progress monitoring. This session will provide participants with the information needed to make data driven decisions and assist them in selecting tools and programs that will be most effective.

(A) Picking Up Speed on the "On Ramp"
In this session you will explore a reading class that research shows accelerates reading achievement. Participants will find out how to help middle school and high school  students who are two to three years below level in their reading ability so that they are able to succeed in on  grade level classes instead of remedial classes.

Breakout Session IV
(A) What Does It Mean to "Know" a Word?
In this session you will explore best vocabulary practices through discussion and hands on activities.  Research shows that “looking up words” is the least effective means of increasing vocabulary, yet many teachers till rely on it as their only vocabulary   instruction. This session will provide alternative ways to  approach vocabulary in the elementary classroom.

(B) Successful School Strategies for MCT2/SATP
Schools throughout Mississippi are working to raise the levels of rigor and relevance in every classroom. Bailey Education Group has created this session to provide school leaders with research based strategies, concepts, and processes needed to guide this effort. This session will blend Data Driven Decision Making, Goal Setting, and Progress Monitoring to assist school leaders as they strive to build Reading Strength and Thinking Strength to improve student growth.

"Meet me at the Bar" MCT2 has significantly raised the bar for student achievement in Mathematics. In order for students to successfully meet this challenge the bar must also be raised for teachers and administrators. In this session, changes found in the new State Mathematics Exam will be discussed. Attention will also be given to the changes that need to take place in a schools curriculum and instructional practices in order to better prepare students for success.
