The University of Mississippi School of Education’s Institute for Education and Workforce Development (NCEE, NISL, ACI) and Bailey Education Group will partner to host the First Annual Educational Leadership Institute on the Ole Miss campus June 11-13.

This year’s topic is Raising the Bar: Leadership , Literacy, and Mathematics. The program targeted at principals, superintendents, federal program cooridinators, curriculum coordinators, and SPED coordinators discuss and explore solutions to improve student achievement the more rigorous MCT2 assessment being administered for the first time in 2008.

The MCT2, which correlates with the new Curriculum Frameworks, implements items utilizing the Depth of Knowledge and takes Mississippi to a new level in assessment.  Because of this new assessment and new rigor, teaching strategies must be different.  Schools must learn to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all students.
