Ole Miss Online FAQ's for Fall 2005
- Ole Miss Online Courses for the Fall 2005 Term: Classes begin on
August 22nd and end on Dec.. Finals are May 9 - 13, 2005. The last day
to register for an online class is January 25, 2005.
- In order to take an Ole Miss Online course,
you must be admitted to the University of Mississippi.
If you are not an Ole Miss student, you must be admitted
at the minimum as a non-degree seeking or visiting
student. For more information go to secure.olemiss.edu/admissions/ug.html or contact the Admissions Office at 662-915-7226.
You should submit your application and documents
as soon as possible.
- Once you are admitted to the University, you
will receive an Ole Miss email account. In order
to activate your Ole Miss email, go to webmail.olemiss.edu or contact the Help Desk at 662-915-5222. In order to change your password
for your Ole Miss email account, go to www.olemiss.edu/helpdesk/faxform.html and fill out the form. You will need to fax it to
the help desk.
- You do not need access to this account
in order to be successful in your class, but official
University communications will be sent to that
e-mail address.
- The ANGEL course management system
does have an internal e-mail system. And you also
have the option of selecting that class e-mails
be sent to any e-mail account. You are not required
to use your Ole Miss e-mail account.
- Textbook Information:
If you are an Ole Miss Student in Oxford, you
can go to the Ole Miss Bookstore on the Ole Miss
campus to purchase your textbooks for your class
Or you can go Campus Bookmart in the Oxford Mall.
If you are not in Oxford, you can order your books
by contacting our office 877-915-7313 or
by using the Online Textbook store - www.outreach.olemiss.edu/bookstore/catalog/
- An email explaining how to access your course through ANGEL
will be sent to your Ole Miss email account approximately 5 days
before classes begin. If you do not receive an e-mail about your
online class before classes begin, or after classes begin, within 24
hours of registering for the class, please contact Ole Miss Online at
online@olemiss.edu or 877-915-7313.
- Your
online course will be taught in ANGEL. Your username
will be the first part of your ole miss e-mail [ex:
online@olemiss.edu the username is online] and your
password is your student number [NOT your social
security number]. If you have questions about your
ANGEL account, please contact OMO Tech Support at
662-915-7089 or online@olemiss.edu. Or you may wish
to contact our office at 877-915-7313.
- You will not be able to "see" your class in ANGEL until the first
class day. Just like a traditional class, you can not go to class
before the semester starts. And don't forget to purchase your textbook
before the beginning of class!
