  1. Many of the young Freedom Riders wrote moving letters back home to family and friends, describing what their journeys were like. Using what you now know about this period, imagine yourself in a similar situation and write a letter home that describes what is happening.

  2. Most of the Freedom Riders were young people under the age of 25. They left their parents' homes and school to struggle for something they believed in. Today, younger generation are often characterized as being apathetic and uninterested in tackling difficult issues. We disagree. Share your thoughts on your generation's greatest challenges and what you would like to do to solve them.
